Lemon Balm Liquid Herbal Extract
Lemon Balm Tincture is also found in our Anxiety & Grief Support Tincture
Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) is a delightful, aromatic, lemony tasting herb that has been lauded for thousands of years by physicians, herbalists and naturalists for its wonderful effects on nervous disorders, emotional distress and far more. It has been highly regarded throughout the ages to “make merry the heart” and uplift a broken spirit, but also has affinities for the brain/cognition as well as the digestive system. Lemon Balm is a staple in any herbalist’s apothecary for its versatility and gentleness on even the most sensitive individuals.
Benefits:
Our family relies on Lemon Balm’s antiviral properties to support immune function, especially in the case of viral skin rashes like chickenpox and Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. (The tincture can be used both internally and topically for viral skin eruptions, including cold sores!)
We use it to calm fussiness, relieve irritability, and promote restorative sleep with pleasant dreams.
We reach for Lemon Balm as a diaphoretic to help regulate an uncomfortably high fever - especially the restless, fidgety, my-skin-hurts kind.
As an anti-spasmodic, Lemon Balm works well in the case of menstrual cramps and other muscular tension, indigestion and gas pains.
As a vasodilator, Lemon Balm helps ease a tension-related, throbbing headache.
Lemon Balm can be used a few times daily to uplift mood for those experiencing either chronic or circumstantial anxiety/depression, to promote clarity of thought and mental focus, or it can be used short-term, to support healing and provide comfort during acute cases of illness or any of the situations mentioned above.
Try Lemon Balm tincture topically to relax muscle cramps!
Lemon Balm is generally considered quite safe for most anyone, but is not suited for those on sedatives or those who have thyroid disease.
